School Uniform

At Weston, we want our school uniform to be smart, practical, inclusive and affordable.

Branded school uniform is available, but children do not have to wear branded items. Families are welcome to buy plain uniform from supermarkets or other retailers, provided it matches our school colours and has no additional logos or markings.

Everyday School Uniform

Children should wear:

• black or grey skirt or smart trousers

• light blue polo shirt

• navy blue sweatshirt or cardigan

• plain black, white or grey socks or tights

• black shoes — not trainers.

In the summer, children may also wear a blue and white checked dress.

PE Kit

For PE lessons and school sports clubs, children should wear:

• navy blue shorts or jogging bottoms

• navy blue tracksuit top or hoodie

• light blue T-shirt

• black or white trainers.

Leggings are not part of our PE uniform.

Jewellery, Hair and Appearance

Children may wear a watch and small stud earrings. Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.

Make-up and nail varnish should not be worn to school. Hair should not be dyed an unnatural colour, and extreme hairstyles or shaved patterns are not permitted.

Long hair is welcome but may need to be tied back for safety or particular activities.

Plain, non-branded uniform can be purchased from supermarkets and high-street retailers.

Second-hand uniform is also regularly available through the school office and Friends of Weston uniform sales.

Keeping Uniform Affordable

We are committed to keeping the cost of school uniform as low as possible.

Branded items are optional, families can buy suitable plain alternatives from a wide range of retailers, and second-hand uniform is available. We also avoid unnecessary year-group or activity-specific uniform requirements.

If the cost of uniform is causing difficulty, please contact us in confidence. We will always seek to work with families sensitively and practically.

Individual Needs and Adjustments

We recognise that some children may need adjustments to our uniform expectations because of religion, culture, disability, sensory needs or other individual circumstances.

Parents and carers are welcome to contact the Headteacher to discuss any appropriate adjustment.
