Our school
Our school is situated in a village in rural Cheshire on the outskirts of Crewe . We are fortunate to have spacious grounds with a good sized playing field, 2 playgrounds, climbing wall, a quiet area and trim trails for both Key Stage 1 and 2.
The school was built in 2002 and features a main hall, 8 classrooms, a library, a urture classroom, several group rooms and a small cookery room. Early Years have an outside learning environment and a state-of-the-art additional classroom to form part of a varied and stimulating Early Years environment.
Our Mission Statement is Be The Best You Can Be. We are proud of our many achievements by striving to uphold this statement. Our academic standards are high and all pupils are encouraged to aim high, through carefully planned learning opportunities, provided by an excellent team of staff.
We want our pupils to enjoy school and learn whilst having fun. We provide a broad, varied and well-balanced curriculum which challenges, nurtures and develops the potential of every child, regardless of their experiences and which seeks to remove any barriers to learning and development. A stimulating learning environment encourages enthusiasm for lifelong learning and positive attitudes to all aspects of school life. There is a strong commitment to fostering a caring and sensitive attitude, ensuring that every child feels safe and secure, valued, confident and respected by their peers.
A thriving before and after school club, The Hive, operates throughout the year, including during school holidays.
Throughout the year, we provide a wide range of extra-curricular clubs for all age groups, from lego and choir to meditation and philosophy. We also provide an extensive range of extra-curricular sports clubs, delivered by expert coaches and paid for in full by the school. One of our Secrets of Success is Try New Things and we ensure that every child engages with clubs and the wide variety of enrichment opportunities at Weston.
Our hugely successful ‘Friends of Weston Village Primary School’ work tirelessly each year to raise valuable funds for projects throughout the school. Please consider joining them if your child starts at Weston; you won’t regret it! They have recently contributed significantly towards a large pirate ship, complete with climbing, slides and monkey bars, as well as several items of outdoor gym equipment.
We strongly believe in developing close links between home and school and know, from experience, that children’s learning clearly benefits from effective partnership. We are also a listening school, and actively encourage parents and children to come and see us if they have any questions.
Our links stretch further than our local community. We work collaboratively with schools in the UK, Europe and Worldwide, believing that these partnerships encourage learning for a purpose. We believe in developing our pupils as global citizens, helping them learn about global themes and giving them the skills to work in a worldwide economy.
