Governance
Who Are Our Governors?
At Weston Village Primary School, we’re proud to have a committed and skilled Governing Body working behind the scenes to support and challenge us to be the very best we can be.
Our governing body is made up of 13 dedicated members, bringing together a wealth of experience from across our school and community. This includes:
1 Headteacher Governor
2 Parent Governors, elected by parents
8 Community Governors, appointed for their expertise and local links
2 Staff Governors, representing our brilliant school team
What Do Governors Do?
Our governors work alongside the Headteacher to make sure Weston provides an excellent education for all pupils. Together, they are responsible for the school’s strategic leadership, financial oversight, and overall performance. In simple terms, they help set the direction of the school and make sure it’s heading the right way!
The Governing Body helps to:
✅ Set and monitor the school’s vision, values, and policies
✅ Agree and oversee the school budget
✅ Support the recruitment of staff, including appointing the Headteacher
✅ Ensure our school site is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained
Making a Difference
Our governors are champions for every child at Weston. They work hard to ensure:
⭐ Pupils achieve their best possible outcomes
⭐ The National Curriculum is delivered effectively
⭐ Every child, regardless of background or need, is included and supported
⭐ We nurture our pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development
