Constitution of The Governing Body
The governing body of WVPS is made up of 13 governors with the following structure:

1 Headteacher

3 parent governors
-
7 community governors
-
2 staff governors
What do governing bodies decide?
School governors and the head teacher are responsible for the overall educational and financial health of the school and will make decisions about:
-
setting and monitoring the school’s aims and policies;
-
agreeing and monitoring the school’s budget;
-
appointing staff, including the head teacher; and
-
ensuring the school premises are maintained and improving the school’s environment.
Governors make sure that:
-
the standards of achievement are raised;
-
the National Curriculum is taught;
-
the school provides for all its pupils including those from ethnic minority backgrounds and with special needs; and
-
the school encourages pupils’ spiritual, moral and cultural development.
