Reception 2027
If your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023, they will normally start Reception in September 2027.
Applications for September 2027 are now open.

Weston has a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 30 pupils for Reception.
How to apply
If you live in Cheshire East, applications should be made through Cheshire East Council's online admissions process.
Apply for a September 2027 school place – Cheshire East
If you live in another English local authority area, such as Staffordshire or Shropshire, you should apply through your home local authority, even if Weston is one of your preferred schools. Cheshire East will then coordinate with your home authority.
We recommend applying by the published deadline, as late applications are considered after applications submitted on time.

In-Year Admissions
An in-year application is an application for a school place outside the normal Reception admission round — for example, because you are moving into the area or would like your child to transfer from another school.
In-year applications for Cheshire East schools are now made through the Cheshire East online admissions portal. Applications can be made by families living in Cheshire East, elsewhere in the UK or overseas.

For admission during the school year, applications can normally be made up to six school weeks before the date you would like your child to start, or up to eight school weeks before for a September start.
If you are considering Weston, you are very welcome to contact us first to discuss the school and current availability. Cheshire East advises parents to contact schools directly for the most up-to-date information about vacancies.
If a year group is full, applicants are placed on a waiting list. Waiting lists are ranked according to the oversubscription criteria in the relevant Admissions Policy; priority is not given simply because a child has been on the waiting list for longer.
How Places Are Allocated
Weston Village Primary School has a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 30 pupils for Reception.
Where there are enough places available, all applicants will be offered a place. If there are more applications than places, the relevant Admissions Policy is used to rank applications.
For Reception places starting in September 2027
After children whose Education, Health and Care Plan names Weston, priority is given in the following order:
looked-after and previously looked-after children
children with a sibling attending Weston
children of staff who have been employed at the school for two or more years at the time of application
children living within the school’s designated catchment area
children living nearest to the school.

For current in-year admissions during 2026–27
Applications for places during the current academic year are considered under the Admissions Policy 2026–27. The oversubscription criteria in that policy are:
looked-after and previously looked-after children
children with a sibling attending Weston
children living within the school’s designated catchment area
children living nearest to the school.
Appeals
If your child is not offered a place at Weston, you have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel.

Year 6 Families – Secondary School Applications
For children currently in Year 6 who will start secondary school in September 2027:
Applications opened: 1 September 2026
Closing date: 31 October 2026
National Offer Day: 1 March 2027
Deadline to accept or decline: 15 March 2027
Cheshire East residents should apply through Cheshire East Council, even when applying for a secondary school outside Cheshire East. Families living in another English local authority should apply through their own home authority.
