Is your child starting Reception in September 2027? Applications for school places with Cheshire East will open soon and close on 15 January 2027.


We'd love you to come and see our school in action. Every week, a member of the senior leadership team will lead a tour for prospective families, giving you the opportunity to see our school during a normal school day and ask any questions you may have.

Pupil Leadership

At Weston, we believe children should have meaningful opportunities to take responsibility, contribute to school life and influence the community around them.

Our approach to pupil leadership is designed to involve children actively rather than relying on a small elected group.

Year 6 Ambassadors

Every Year 6 pupil takes on an ambassador role during their final year at Weston.

Ambassadors work in teams linked to different aspects of school life, including:

  • Inclusion

  • Physical Activity

  • Digital Learning

  • Learning and Curriculum

  • Wellbeing and Safeguarding

  • Community

  • Eco and Sustainability

Each ambassador team is supported by a member of staff. Pupils are encouraged to identify priorities, gather views, contribute ideas and take practical action within their area of responsibility.

Depending on their role, ambassadors might lead assemblies, support events and projects, speak with pupils and staff, help evaluate an aspect of school life or represent Weston within the wider community.

Leadership Across the School

Pupil leadership at Weston extends beyond the Year 6 Ambassador programme.

Children across school have opportunities to take responsibility and contribute through a range of roles linked to their classes, curriculum, play, sport, wellbeing and wider school life.

These opportunities help children develop confidence, independence, teamwork and a growing understanding that leadership is about listening, contributing and taking responsibility for others as well as yourself.

Pupil Voice

We want children to know that their views matter.

Staff gather pupil views in different ways across the school, including through curriculum discussions, surveys, ambassador work and conversations about teaching, play, wellbeing and school improvement.

Pupil voice does not mean that children make every decision; it means that we listen carefully to their experiences and involve them meaningfully in areas where they can make a difference.

Developing Future Leaders

Through leadership opportunities, we want pupils to learn how to:

  • represent the views of others

  • listen respectfully to different perspectives

  • work collaboratively

  • communicate confidently

  • take responsibility

  • solve problems and turn ideas into action

  • contribute positively to their school and community.
