Celebrating Our Ofsted Report – September 2026
We are absolutely delighted to share the outcome of our Ofsted inspection, which took place on 15 and 16 September 2026.
It is a fantastic result for Weston Village Primary School and one that we are incredibly proud of!
This was our first inspection under Ofsted's new framework, which no longer gives schools a single overall grade such as Good or Outstanding. Instead, schools are judged separately in seven different areas.
Importantly, Ofsted has made clear that the new Expected standard is a high standard, with schools having to demonstrate that they securely meet all the requirements within each area.
We are therefore thrilled that Weston met this high standard in every area of the inspection, with three areas judged to be even stronger:
Achievement – Strong standard
Leadership and Governance – Strong standard
Personal Development and Wellbeing – Strong standard
These Strong judgements recognise excellent, consistent practice that makes a real difference to children. All four remaining areas met Ofsted's high Expected standard and our safeguarding standards were also confirmed as met.
As this is a new inspection framework, Ofsted has published a helpful guide explaining what the different grades mean. You can read Ofsted's guide to report cards and grades here.
So much to celebrate!
There is so much in the report that makes us proud. Inspectors recognised that our children achieve highly, enjoy their learning, behave well and feel safe. They praised the positive relationships throughout the school, the care and support we provide for children with different needs and the wide range of opportunities that help them grow in confidence and develop as individuals.
We were especially pleased with what inspectors had to say about our children. They described pupils as happy, proud of their achievements, respectful of others and confident about their learning. They also recognised how older pupils look after younger children and how our pupils contribute positively to school life.
The report also celebrates the dedication of our staff, the strength of our leadership and governance and the positive relationships we have with families. It is wonderful to see these things acknowledged so clearly.
Of course, we will always look for ways to make Weston even better. We have ambitious plans for the school and will continue working hard to give every child the very best opportunities. But this is also a moment to recognise and celebrate everything that is already so good about Weston.
Thank you!
An enormous thank you to our wonderful children, brilliant staff and dedicated governors. We are immensely proud of them all.
Thank you also to our parents and carers for the support, encouragement and trust you give us every day. It makes such a difference.
Weston is a very special school and it is wonderful to have so much of what makes it special recognised in this report.
We hope you enjoy reading the full report, which is available below and on the Ofsted website.
