Sports Premium

Please read the information below that gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we have allocated the funding.

PE at Weston School.

Children in Weston School will enjoy a rich variety of experiences in Physical Education, which will encourage them to adopt a lifelong commitment to a healthy, active and enjoyable lifestyle. They will be encouraged to appreciate the importance of a healthy and fit body, and begin to understand those factors that affect health and fitness. (This compliments the issues in the school’s policy on Health Education.)

A broad and balanced physical education curriculum will be provided which will enable them to plan, participate in and evaluate work appropriate to their age and their needs, with increasing self-confidence.  It will encourage the children to work independently and to respond appropriately to others irrespective of their age, gender, cultural or ethnic backgrounds.

Our Sports Funding will enable us to continue and extend our sporting provisions at Weston.

What is the PE and Sport Premium Grant?

Each year, the government provides funding to schools that will allow them to make additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, that will benefit pupils of primary-aged pupils. It also encourages the development of a healthy and active lifestyle.

At Weston School, between April 2016 and March 2017 we received £9101 based on the number of pupils in Years One to Six. The money from the PE and Sport Premium can only be spent on sports and PE provisions.
