Headteacher welcome

Our school is situated in a village in rural Cheshire on the outskirts of Crewe . We are fortunate to have spacious grounds with a good sized playing field, 2 playgrounds, climbing wall, a quiet area and trim trails for both Key Stage 1 and 2.

The school building is only 12 years old and features a main hall, 9 classrooms, a library and a small cookery room. Early Years have an outside learning environment with an annexe.

Our Mission Statement is Be The Best You Can Be. We are proud of our many achievements by striving to uphold this statement. Our academic standards are high and all pupils are encouraged to aim high, through carefully planned learning opportunities, provided by an excellent team of staff.

We want our pupils to enjoy school , to learn whilst having fun. We provide a broad, varied and well-balanced curriculum which nurtures and develops the potential of every child. A stimulating learning environment encourages enthusiasm for lifelong learning and positive attitudes to all aspects of school life. There is a strong commitment to fostering a caring and sensitive attitude , ensuring that every child feels secure, valued, confident and respected by their peers.

A thriving before and after school club operates for 51 weeks per year providing care during holiday times.

At varying times of the year, we provide extra-curricular clubs throughout the age groups. Clubs on offer may include football, netball, athletics, choir, knitting and ballroom dancing.

Private providers use our school hall after school. Many of our children are taught ballet, jazz, tap, street dance and musical theatre by a reputable Dance School.

Our hugely successful ‘Friends of Weston Village Primary School’ work tirelessly each year to raise valuable funds for projects throughout the school. Please consider joining them if your child starts at Weston; you won’t regret it!

We strongly believe in developing close links between home and school and know, from experience, that children’s learning clearly benefits from effective partnership. We are also a listening school, and actively encourage parents and children to come and see us if they have any concerns.

Our links stretch further than our local community. We work collaboratively with schools in the UK, Europe and Worldwide, believing that these partnerships encourage learning for a purpose. We believe in developing our pupils as global citizens, helping them learn about global themes and giving them the skills to work in a worldwide economy.

I am extremely proud to be the Head Teacher at Weston Village Primary School and would be more than happy to show you around if you would like to come and look round our wonderful school.
