The Sounds We are Learning

The children have now looked at all of the Set 1 Speed Sounds. Below is a list of the set 1 sounds:

*Note: The sounds which have two or more letters are known as 'best buddies'.

We have now moved on to learning Set 2 Speed Sounds alongside Set 1. These are the vowel sounds in words. Below is a list of the Set 2 Speed Sounds in the order that we will be learning them;

ay (day) 

ee (see)

igh (high)

ow (snow)

oo (zoo)

oo (look)

ar (car)

or (short)

air (stair)

ir (bird)

ou (shout)

oy (boy)
