Science Bird Beak Investigation

In Science, we have been learning about evolution and Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution.  We have studied his trip to the Galpaogas Islands, where he observed different varieties of finches.  Their beaks were different shapes depending on the food that was available on the island.

We used spoons, straws and tweezers to pick up maltesers, marshmallows and rice.  It showed us how the different shapes of the beaks are suited to the different food and that these have evolved over generations.
